NEUTRON SERIES MANAGED ACCESS POINT
Can be configured, managed and monitored with several Neutron Series Access Points from the browser-based interface of one Neutron Series Wireless Management Layer 2 PoE+ Switch. After a Neutron Series Layer PoE+ Switch discovers the EWS660AP it can be “added” and set to be “managed” by the Switch. The Neutron Wireless Management solution supports bulk firmware upgrades and other features that can be set and managed across deployed Neutron Series Access Points simultaneously.

DUAL-BAND EXPANDS USER CAPACITY & OPTIMIZES TRAFFIC FLOW WITH BAND STEERING
Featuring Dual-Band concurrent wireless coverage, the EWS660AP supports expanded user capacity, enabling 2.4 GHz and newer 5 GHz devices to simultaneously connect for maximum speed and performance. Band Steering automatically shifts Dual-Band clients to the less congested 5 GHz band, greatly optimizing overall bandwidth traffic on the network.

HIGH POWER LONG RANGE COVERAGE
High transmit power on each band provides more than twice the wireless coverage over mainstream competitors and enables the wireless signal for faster connectivity to client devices.

The EWS660AP is a high-powered, long-range, 3×3 Dual Band Neutron Series Managed Wireless solution AC1750 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Outdoor Access Point that functions as a stand-alone Access Point or as part of an EnGenius Neutron Series Wireless Management solution. It features a high transmit RF power for better outdoor signal penetration.

The EWS660AP can operate as a stand-alone Access Point connecting to third-party PoE-capable switches but more control and versatile management of the Access Point is achievable when it is part of an EnGenius Neutron Series Wireless Network Management solution because the AP includes firmware that enables it to be immediately discovered, configured, monitored and managed from a compatible Neutron Series PoE+ Switch (EWS5912FP, EWS7928FP or EWS7952FP). This capability enables IT managers to deploy and manage up to 50 EWS660APs from a Neutron Series Switch allowing for simplified management from one browser-based interface including simultaneous firmware upgrades, clustering, traffic monitoring, bandwidth steering and many other features that can be reset or reconfigured from the convenience of the IT manager’s desktop.

Operating in both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency spectrums and supporting 802.11a/b/g/n/ac standards the EWS660AP features wireless speeds up to on its 2.4 GHz band and up to 1300 Mbps on its 5 GHz band, a Gigabit port for connecting to 802.3at-capable PoE Switches. As the EWS660AP is designed to be mounted in high locations where power outlets may be scarce, it also supports PoE (Power-over-Ethernet) IEEE 802.3at for use with an 802.3at-capable PoE injector or 802.3at-capable PoE Switches, drawing up to 22 watts of power.

Made For Harsh Outdoor Environments
IP65-rated enclosure, one of the highest waterproof and dustproof ratings available, designed to withstand extremely harsh environmental conditions including severe and prolonged exposure to sunlight, extreme cold, frost, snow, rainfall, hail and humidity. The housing of the Access Point also has been manufactured to repel ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun.

SSID-To-VLAN Tagging
Can be configured to broadcast up to eight (16) SSIDs (8 SSIDs per frequency band). Each SSID can be tagged to a specified network VLAN for different user access tiers based on established access rights.
Fast Roaming When Used With A RADIUS Server
Keeps client devices connected as they roam within the network.

Wireless Traffic Shaping
Gives IT managers the ability to restrict bandwidth on each frequency as necessary.
1- User capacity performance results may vary based on topology configuration, structural and architectural elements, environmental factors, type of data traffic, RF capabilities of client devices, distance, RF interference in the operating environment and other factors.
